Let’s Talk About Work…
Hi, everyone (or just one… or nobody… whatever).
Just like most writers, I read a lot. Like – a lot a lot. As a poor writer, I accomplish this in two ways; the library and Kindle Unlimited. My library’s fine (Hi, guys! :::waves:::), but KU just kills me sometimes. Is it really so hard for people to take the time to give their readers a good experience? They need to either hire an editor or get their heads out of their asses and realize that writing is fun… and a lot of damned work.
I’m going to use this blog to talk about the work part of writing; adverb abuse, adjective overload, verbs that are so weak they should be on life support, tightening up sentences, respecting your audience, and a slew of other things.
This isn’t just for self-publishers who can’t afford an editor; it’s also for people who want to give clean copy to an agent or editor.
Why should you listen to me? Well, why the hell not? I do have street-cred, but make up your own mind about me.
Oh, and a warning — I curse. If there’s a word in the English language (a four letter one or not) that will get my point across, I’m damned well going to use it.
Well, my writing is pretty shit (yes, I curse too š). We’ll see what I can learn from here š

It’s perfectly fine for a first draft to be shit. Hell, it’s supposed to be! If I had to worry about all this stuff in my initial writing sessions, I’d never get anything done š Hopefully, I can help with the clean-up part.
